Yuri's test didn't show any seizures. Based on the information I gave him and his exam, the doctor said that Yuri does not have CP and probably doesn't have hydrocephalus due to his small head size. He also doubts that Yuri suffered any major brain damage at birth. (I'm so glad I requested (fought) for the medicals to be translated.) He ordered an MRI and told us to go see a geneticist.
He believes that Yuri has a metabolic disorder of some kind. So now we have to figure out what it is. We will see if the MRI comes back with anything interesting
That's good news, right?
ReplyDeleteGoodness gracious....no CP????? No Hydrocephalus???? Wow. How could they possibly get that wrong? Wait, don't answer that! Ugh.
ReplyDeleteGosh, friend, what a journey with all the tests. Boy do I understand. Take it one little step ata time.
LESSON....take EVERY bit of infomation from orphanages with a teeny, tiny, grain of salt!!!
How is Yuri doing? Still fussing and crying as much?
Sounds like a pretty good appointment, I'm glad you are getting to the bottom of things and fought like the mama bear that you are! Great job advocating for your son :o)
ReplyDeleteWow. This is written in English and I'm all...huh?
ReplyDeleteThe first part sounds like good news. "Doesn't have..." is good.
I don't know anything about metabolic disorders but I will be praying!! Hoping either nothing is wrong (except he has spent his life in an orphanage) or that you will get answers that are needed!
Just crazy! That kid is so lucky to have you in his corner!
ReplyDeleteAutumn! That's great news! Praise the LORD!!!! I'm so glad you're their momma and that you fought for them!
ReplyDeleteSo glad he doesn't have seizures. Hope the next doc can find out what is going on with him. He looks happier though :-)

What good news!! I'm amazed! God is so good.
ReplyDeleteThese boys are so amazing and beautiful. I am glad for the news so far, and I hope whatever is going on with Yuri can be managed relatively simply for you all. These boys already look so tremendously different just in their short time home. Thank you so much for recuing them and giving them the mother, father and family they deserve!
ReplyDeleteThe Dr.'s assessment is very interesting! I am guessing he didn't find any rigidity in Yuri's extremities, I haven't seen any in his pictures. So, my initial thought is YES, he doesn't have CP (Way cool)and I am loving the no major brain damage from birth (no brain bleed or lack of oxygen). I wonder what put your dear Yuri in the orphanage in the first place? And I am definitely wondering what the MRI will show and what the geneticist will say. I will be targeting this in prayer, and asking God to give wisdom to you and to the medical professionals. I still think time is going to be a great friend to Yuri, and Bohdan too. Their whole demeanor is already so changed. I see peace in their eyes, and so much more.
ReplyDeleteI am so hopeful for these two little doodlebugs. Grace and strength, refreshing, and the mind of God for you, Autumn and Josh.
