We celebrated Bohdans' birthday last Friday with many friends! Bohdan had no shortage of brothers to help him with the tedious job of candle blowing out.
Yes Asher did lick the cake. What are you gonna do?
He also blew out the candles before we sang to Bohdan, so we re lit them. Bohdan was amazed by the flame.
After the candles were blown out again. Bohdan grabbed two hand fulls of icing! It didn't go over well.
Not well at all!
Get ready for this next Picture. I found it but I can't recognize the child. I mean I KNOW who it is but THAT starved, frail, weak, tiny child is GONE and never to return. Thanks to God's Grace!
This was taken Dec. 2010. How anyone can say that adoption isn't REDEMPTION!! or that adoption isn't RESCUING!! That adoption isn't SAVING!! It is all of these things and it is LIFE CHANGING for everyone involved. It is awesome and humbling to see the changes in my boys. WE really do serve an amazing God!!!
Happy Birthday Bodhan!!! His transformation is nothing more than a miracle of God!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! The wonderful changes in only 6 months... WOW!!! I can hardly wait to get my girls home and see how they bloom.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bohdan! So very happy you are celebrating with your family this year. The change is incredible Autumn! Coming up on 6 months home right? Soooo hoping for a 6 month update! Totally curious how much they have grown and learned since they've been home.
ReplyDeleteOk I just opened the last picture and the "chubby cheek" picture in new windows and looked at them side by side - WOW!!!!!!! I would never have guessed them to be the same child SIX MONTHS LATER, if I didn't know better. Thank you for saving him, and Yuri too, but little Bohdan had my heart from the first picture I saw of him on RR.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord! Bohdan looks like a totally different kid, but then again I guess he is ... an orphan no more, but a loved little boy with mommy, daddy, brothers, and so many others that care about him! Love to read your updates!!
ReplyDeleteWow! The difference between the child you adopted and little Bodhan now is unbelievable. He looks like a happy, healthy little child whereas before he was this pale little waif. It's amazing. Happy Birthday Bodhan!
ReplyDeleteOh my word! I've been reading your blog since before you got in country. I mean, I KNEW Bodhan had changed....but how did I not notice how much???? What a huge difference! Happy birthday Bodhan!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you posted that pic at the end - I was already thinking before I got to it how amazing Bohdan's transformation has been. Happy birthday, sweet boy!! :)
ReplyDeleteI was looking at the first pictures and admiring how healthy that beautiful little boy looks and then to reflect on the past it is absolutely amazing. You are an amazing women and your boys are so lucky to have you and I feel fortunate to have been able to follow along your journey.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the change in Bohdan! I almost didn't recognize him. I really thought you were holding Caius! I just love how much his hair has grown in! So wonderful! Happy birthday sweet boy!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you and praise you Jesus !!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bohdan!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery time you post pictures, I am in awe of his transformation. I love his hair! I love his healthy size and color.
He is a living testimony to what love can do! Praise God!
Robin, we haven't met but I've been following your blog since you traveled to bring Bohdan and Yuri home. I believe we 'met' through Adeye Salem. But I wanted to say that I kind of thought nothing of how Bohdan looked when you guys were in-country, but now I look at that photo and see him as if he was on the verge of death. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but it gave me chills. Praising God today for the health of your boys and the love they're receiving everyday! Thanks for sharing your sweet boy(s)!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday sweet boy! Wow you have just blossomed from the love of a family! It's just the first of many special birthdays you will be celebrating full of love!
ReplyDeleteThe change is amazing. And is such a short period of time! God is good. Happy Birthday, Bohdan.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful transformation he has gone through. He looks so happy and content now.
