Happy Sunday!

So we randomly got an appointment with a geneticist on Friday. It was such a God thing, He is so cool. We were having a very hard time getting an appointment with genetisist M then Thursday a nurse from geneticist S called and wanted to schedule us for Friday. I didn't argue or ask about the mix up and made the appointment.

The genetticist said he doesn't think it is a metabolic disorder but he had a lot of ideas and was a plethora of information. He is testing his chromosomes, his urine and he drew some blood. I'm so excited to get some answers. Yippee!

In keeping with our tradition, someone, I'm not going to name any names :o), pulled my computer off onto the floor and now it is in the shop. I hope to get it back soon. I thought the cord was under the couch but my boys are really wiley.

Last week was a rollercoaster, started good and by wednesday I was calling for help. So Thursday, my friend Brenda came over and helped me with my ironing, bless her. Poor Josh was getting to end of his closet and pulling out clothes I hadn't seen in a while. :o/ Then Friday, my friend Barbara came over for a bit to see the boys and help me around the house. She has a lot of experience with SN and even taught Yuri to sign 'more'. I'm really proud of him.

Josh's parents came this weekend and we had a blast. I really enjoyed our time together and I wish they lived closer. The boys really enjoyed the constant attention. Bohdan absolutley loved Grumpy (thats grandpa) and would speed crawl to him whenever he had the chance.

Well we are going to try church again. Oh my! We shall see how it goes. Just wanted to give you all a quick update. Hopefully I can get you pictures soon. Happy Sunday!

  1. Praise God!! Sometimes we wait so long for specialists appointments and we are left with more questions than answers. But finding out the "Negatives" (as in it's negative for the scary diagnosis we were suspecting) is still better than finding the correct answer. Still in limbo, still waiting for more information, but it sounds like you are on a great track with a great physician. So glad you have testing in the works and more answers on the way. And what smart boys you have! They'll be picking up signs so quickly you'll find yourself running to the TV to learn more to keep up with them. Sorry to hear about the computer. That's a big bummer! Very glad you have friends who can jump in and do what you need help with. Glad the grandparents visit was so much fun too. Sounds like a much needed weekend. I hope you have a terrific uplifting experience of fellowship today. Having your hands full is better than having your hands empty.

  3. What is this "ironing" you speak of?

I think we *might* have an iron somewhere... in the basement... in a box... under a lot of other stuff...

Surrender, Dorothy! You have your hands more than full and right now your beautiful children are more important than housework. Leave the ironing to the flying monkeys who work at your neighborhood cleaners. :o)

  6. I'm glad you are going to get some answers about Yuri. I meant to write a comment on your last post, but forgot about it. Maybe I am wrong, but do you think it could be an allergy to gluten? I have read some about it and it can change personality and make the child different from one day to a next. Just a thought.

  8. Oh man, I would love to come iron or help clean or whatever was needed. Wish I wasn't so far away. :(
Good for you for calling for help! Gives people a chance to be a blessing and that means more to them than you know. Truly.

  9. Haha I have to agree with Bulldogma! You know the dryer has the fluff cycle for a reason right? ;o) I'm so happy to hear you have friends and family stepping into help though Autumn! You just "sound" so much less stressed now, YAY for you! I'm curious how much (if any...I know you've been dealing w/ illness!) weight the boys have put on since they've been home? Have you noticed them filling out a bit? Thinking of your beautiful family as always!

  11. Glad to hear you got in with the geneticist.

If you're working on ASL with them, I'd check out the signing time series of videos. The girls I watch LOVE them, especially the baby who just turned 1 (the other two are 5 and 3). They have some of the songs/videos on youtube and an app for the iphone. It's a great distraction when we're out and about.
