Yea!

The surgery has gone great. He is in recovery and doing well. Thank you for all your prayers!

Surgery day 11am

Caius went on the by-pass machine about 30 minutes ago. Which means they have stopped his heart in order to rebuild it and a machine is running his lungs. Please pray!

Open Heart Surgery

This has nothing to do with our adoption but I would like to ask for your prayers.
My littlest guy, Caius, is having open heart surgery on Tuesday to repair his complete AV Canal.
Please keep him and his medical team in your prayers. Thanks!

Good Stuff!

We got our I-600A application mailed out last night. I was at Fed Ex at 9:30 pm and our package should arrive at or before 10:30 am today. Please pray that it will be expedited and that we will get our fingerprint appointment super soon! (Well and that we included everything we were supposed to.)

We also got a refund from my OBGYN from my pregnancy last year and it is enough to color a butterfly! Yay! Plus I'm almost done mailing out our birth announcements!

God Answers Prayers!

Its funny how we can't see past our own timing. I figured that since we hadn't heard anything by Thursday night that is was too late. We prayed that night, surrendering to God's timing and He gave us peace that no matter when we get our Home Study that it will be exactly when He planned.

Well, Friday morning I finally hear from our team who said that my emails were going into their spam folder and that they hadn't received our Home Study yet. In the time it took me to email our SW, I got another email from our team saying they found our Home Study, it had gone into another folder. Our team then emailed us and our SW with some minor changes but didn't say anything about our background checks which needed to be reviewed by our team in Eastern Europe (EE). I faxed our paperwork right over and then didn't hear anything.

Friday night I email them and ask if they had gotten my fax. Still didn't hear anything.....

Then Saturday morning (remember our SW needed all our changes before Saturday morning) I get an email saying our fax hadn't gone through. {sigh} Then in 15 minutes I got another email saying they got my fax and sent the info off to our team in EE. Then finally this morning (Sunday) we got the email that no changes need to be made to our background checks. Yay!!

So now, as long as our SW got the changes made and got it in the mail before she left on vacation, we are good to go.

I think God was trying to teach us a lesson to just trust Him. That he doesn't operate on human time but on His time. I just think about how ridiculous I must have looked to Him when I was freaking out. Thank you so much for all your prayers! God truly answers prayers!

Need Prayer

So today our SW told me that she had already submitted our Home Study for review and that I should probably let them know that she is going to be out of town next week. She said that she would need it back before the 14th in order to send it out before she leaves. Otherwise she won't be able to work on it until after the 23rd.

AAHHHHH!!!! I can't get a hold of anybody and I have no idea what is going on. Please pray that someone contacts me and that our Home Study is already being reviewed and is almost on its way back to our SW.

I would just hate for my boys to stay in the dreadful place one moment longer than necessary.

Thank you all for you prayers!

Update

Good news! We got our jewelry page up! A lot of my friends have gotten bracelets and aren't taking them off until our boys come home. Yippee! And we have received our first two donations towards our adoptions. Yay!!

I was a good girl while we were waiting on our home study. We got the draft early Tuesday morning. We need to actually have the team in our boy's country look it over cuz of a minor hiccup but I can't send it on for approval until our SW adds a couple words and changes a few numbers. I've emailed her twice but haven't heard anything. I feel all wound up inside.

We also got our medical forms back last Friday and they were kicked backed for some minor typos. So I sent them back to the Doctor's office today.

You already know about the purple announcement. Well I am trying to save money so I used paper and envelopes that I already had here at the house. So it looks a little hodge podgie, no worries. Well then Jorge, our rabbit who thinks he is a cat (he eats the cat food and uses the kitty door), decided to get in on the mix and he ate the corners off of some of the announcement letters. Then we are stuffing the envelopes on Monday night and learned that the No Knots prayers don't fit. So we had to re-cut those.

We were all just laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. My girlfriend said "you didn't really think it was going to go smoothly did you?"

Not to mention I noticed that I misspelled the word unknown on half of the prayers. So some of them the author is unknown and some of them the author is unkown. Which is a negative cross between a cow and clown. Anyway, thanks for listening, thank for laughing and thank you for your support.

Overwhelmed with Blessings

Wow!! Thank you to all of you who are praying for us and for those who prayed for us even before we knew this was our path. I am humbled and honored by all your posts. Thank you for your support! Thank you for your prayers! Thank you for loving my boys!

To answer a very often asked question, How do you pronounce Caius? K-eye-us, It is actually a biblical name that means 'rejoice'. Bohdan is a boys name from his birth country. It is pronounced with a long o.

Prayer requests: That Bohdi and Yuri will be kept safe and free from harm and that all of our paperwork that we are waiting on would be like fire! That it can't be ignored and it must be done by whomever needs to complete it!

Working, working, working!

I have the best friends ever! Nick, Lyndsay and Diane came over Monday to help with the announcements. Josh cut paper, Lyndsay worked on the No knots jewelery, which I think looks awesome. Granma Di played with her boys. Nick cleaned my kitchen (Bless him!) I made them meatloaf as payment :o). We are having another work evening on Thursday. This time I shall pay them in chimichangas!

Anyway, I'm compiling addresses and still working on getting the announcements ready. Josh and I are also trying to get all our paperwork together for our dossier before Caius' heart surgery on the 24th. Its a good distraction and I think we are almost done!!

Birth announcement

Well, we have hurried up and now we are waiting! Our Social Worker came and did our Home Study on the 25th. We have our Medical forms into our Doctor. We have sent off the first set of our paperwork, apostilled and everything!! Now we wait...

We are going to send out birth announcements with a letter explaining our boys' plight. I designed them yesterday and sent them off to Walgreens. Well we got them back and there are two problems... #1 they were supposed to be blue not purple, and #2 they are pix-elated, however they do get the point across, so we are going to use them!

If you would like to receive a birth announcement for yourself or to share with your church groups just leave me a comment.
